The fundamentals of Remedial Massage is the release, correction and alignment of soft tissues associated with a muscular skeletal imbalance. As we grow our skills and knowledge in this field, Remedial therapists are searching for smarter, more effective and easier techniques to utilise on clients to improve results, compete in the growing industry, innovate our interest and save our bodies for longer lasting careers.

This workshop is designed as an add on extra to existing fundamental remedial muscular skills to help achieve these goals. It will provide the learner with a new range of effective techniques and skills to advance your standing, professionalism and ability to work with clients from a range of industry sectors. The workshop will build your confidence to work with clients and treat a larger number of remedial conditions presented.

WHATS COVERED IN THIS WORKSHOP

Focusing on the neck and its large range of muscular skeletal pain syndromes, this workshop will refresh your skill level and provide innovative techniques to add to your toolkit to work with your client’s remedial issues. The following list represents a range of varying approaches that can be applied to remedial neck conditions. Learners will receive skills that give the ability to provide a treatment to most muscular skeletal conditions of the neck. Each category will cover both theory and practical skills.

• Positional Release Therapy for acute neck trauma.
• Cranial Balancing– Still point and neck extension for acute neck trauma.
• Posterior cervical Dermal/nerve assessment and release for acute neck trauma.
• Individual Vertebral restriction assessments and release techniques.
• Occipital nerve assessment and treatment.
• Vertebral Artery pathway treatment.
• Brachial plexus assessment/thoracic inlet and fascial release.
• Vagus Nerve release
• Individual vertebrae soft tissue restriction / tracking assessment and release.

Your Presenter:

Scott Strand has been a qualified Remedial Massage Therapist for 33 Years. Scott has formal qualifications in Remedial Massage, TCM, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Ayurveda, Naturopathy, Herbalism and Nutrition. In addition to formal qualifications he has studied Cranial balancing, Neural manipulation, Visceral manipulation, Shiatsu, Kinesiology, Bowen therapy, Fascial release, Neurokinetic manipulation, Hawaiian and Chinese remedial therapy. Scott has travelled to many countries studying traditional and modern body therapies.

He has been providing accredited training for remedial massage therapists for 26 years and has treated thousands of clients for common and chronic conditions.
