A large component of Remedial Massage Skills is working with clients with acute or chronic Musculo Skeletal pain. The main foundations of remedial massage is working with muscles, fascia and joints utilising varying tools, techniques and philosophies. This is to create changes in the tissues to improve health and function, and reduce any pain syndromes.

Another layer of skills and knowledge to this foundational base is working directly with the communicative nerves that are central to the client, the sensation of pain and often the direct cause. Pain reduction or management is central to most remedial Musculo Skeletal client conditions. Successful treatment outcomes from a client’s perspective is how well they feel post treatment and more importantly, they are looking for a reduction in their pain.

Working directly with nerve manipulation, nerve paths and their entrapment sites can provide a higher level of remedial skills you can offer, providing the ability to enhance client results, thereby increasing business and bringing an edge of anatomical knowledge to your profession.

WHATS COVERED IN THIS WORKSHOP

This workshop is focused on the brachial plexus and its main nerve branches of the upper appendicular region. Understanding common anatomical muscular, ligament and skeletal entrapments along the paths of the Axillary nerve, Median nerve, Radial nerve, Musculocutaneous and Suprascapular nerves.

Developing knowledge of the path treatments for each nerve to help clients with pain syndromes.

Learning signs and symptoms for case assessments for each nerve line.

Practicing and gaining understanding of advanced refined remedial skills for direct specific nerve palpation and manipulation.

• Working with the fascial nerve lines, helps to increase the holding patterns of reduced Musculo Skeletal pain and their entrapments.

Your Presenter:

Scott Strand has been a qualified Remedial Massage Therapist for 33 Years. Scott has formal qualifications in Remedial Massage, TCM, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Ayurveda, Naturopathy, Herbalism and Nutrition. In addition to formal qualifications he has studied Cranial balancing, Neural manipulation, Visceral manipulation, Shiatsu, Kinesiology, Bowen therapy, Fascial release, Neurokinetic manipulation, Hawaiian and Chinese remedial therapy. Scott has travelled to many countries studying traditional and modern body therapies.

He has been providing accredited training for remedial massage therapists for 26 years and has treated thousands of clients for common and chronic conditions.
